Video: Will Smith’s Excitement Over 76ers Beating the Celtics
There’s no question Will Smith is one of the most popular icons in the NBA as the actor and rapper is enjoying his first season as part owner of the Philadelphia 76ers. Being part owner of the 76ers is literally a dream-come true for Smith considering he’s been a die-hard fan of the team ever since he was a little kid and on Friday, fans got to see how much of a fan Smith really is during a press conference after the game.
Following the team’s 99-86 win over the Boston Celtics on Friday, Smith and 76ers CEO Adam Aron took some time out of Dog Collins’ press conference to congratulate the head coach on picking up his 400th career win. It’s one thing for a team like Philadelphia to pick up a big win over their division rivals to remain on top of the Atlantic Division, but it’s even more meaningful to see a great coach like Collins reach such a great milestone in his career.
Despite all of these accomplishments, nothing tops Smith’s reaction during the post-game conference considering how happy he was to see Collins reach the milestone against a team like the Celtics–who Smith apparently has hated since his childhood days. As Smith said, Larry Bird and the Celtics “ruined his childhood” when it comes to being a 76ers fan and the happiness in the sound of his voice is priceless during the video.
Thanks to our friends at The 700 Level for providing the video of Smith above.
