The Greatest Sports Tattoo of All Time – Boston Style
This is by far the greatest sports tattoo of all time. This fan permanently marked his devotion to the four major sports franchises of the Boston area on his body, proving that he’s a true fan for several reasons.
First, he’s not a bandwagon fan. He’s a true fan of all the teams in his same region. The only one of the four teams whose city name isn’t “Boston” is the New England Patriots, who used to be the Boston Patriots. This guy is a true fan of Boston sports.
Second, he embraced the logos of all four teams in their modern fashion. Many Patriots fans aren’t fond of the “Flying Elvis” that replaced Pat the Patriot. These fans are true Patriots fans, not those who suddenly became Patriots fans when New England won its first Super Bowl in 2002.
Finally, this fan found a way to include the most important part of each team’s logo and molded them all together in the most creative way possible. If he didn’t come up with this design on his own, he owes the person who did.
The leprechaun body of the Boston Celtics’ logo is by far the most recognizable portion with his left hand resting on his shillelagh (cane). In place of the usual spinning basketball on his right index finger is the logo of the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins, which fits perfectly as a sphere in place of the ball.
This creation wouldn’t be possible without the Flying Elvis, so this fan made use of this controversial logo in New England and it worked to perfection. But of course, the most creative and unique part of this collage by far are the red socks, representing the Boston Red Sox.
Of course you instantly recognize the Patriots and Celtics logos in the tattoo, but then scanning down to the red socks just puts a smile on your face from the sheer appreciation of the creativity. Even if you’re a New York Yankees fan, you have to appreciate the creativeness.
By far the greatest sports tattoo of all time, this display of sports appreciation creates somewhat of an unofficial contest: who can come up with a better one? There are several cities with four major sports teams, like Chicago and Dallas, so now it’s up to the fans of those cities to come up with something even better. I’ll say it first; this one is going to be very hard to top.
