Video: Texas Rangers Fan Catches Outfielder Josh Hamilton’s Home Run Ball And Does The Sprinkler
Texas Rangers outfielder, Josh Hamilton has started the year off great. He is currently batting .500 with 2 home runs, 3 rbi and 4 runs scored. He has at least 1 hit in each of the Rangers first 4 games.
Last night in the Rangers 11-5 win over the Seattle Mariners, Hamilton hit one of his bombs. I am sure he was thrilled to hit it out but, it seems as though the fan that caught the ball was even happier.
17 year-old Rangers fan Trent Williams caught Hamilton’s bomb in dead center and celebrated by promptly doing, The Sprinkler.
The great start of this season was a necessity for Hamilton, considering the tumultuous off-season he had. Hamilton had a relapse to his drinking days and then began counseling.
Hamilton had several drinks during dinner in Dallas on Jan. 30 and continued drinking later on that night. It was the second known relapse with alcohol in the past three years for the recovering drug addict.
As I said, Hamilton has a history with drugs and alcohol.
Hamilton was the No. 1 overall draft pick by Tampa Bay in 1999 before his initial involvement in drugs and alcohol. He ended up missing more than three full seasons in the minor leagues because of several drug suspensions, and didn’t make his major league debut until 2007 with Cincinnati.
You would think that this was all that happened this off season however, you would be wrong.
Multiple sources claim Hamilton had more than just a few drinks and then had sex with an unknown woman in the bathroom of Sherlock’s restaurant in Dallas.
One undisclosed television station in Dallas claims someone offered a video recording of Hamilton having sex in the bathroom at Sherlock’s in exchange for $41,000. An employee of the television station said her employers declined.
After all that, Hamilton said that he doesn’t feel like he owes the Rangers.
“The Rangers have done a lot for me, but I’ve got a question for y’all: Have I done a lot for the Rangers? I think I’ve given them everything I’ve had,” Hamilton said. “I don’t think anybody can say I haven’t. When it comes down to it, people don’t understand, fans don’t understand, this is a business, this is an entertainment business.
“I love Texas. I love my fans. I love fans of the Rangers. I love the organization. I love my teammates. I love everything about it. But I’m not going to sit here and say that I owe the Rangers. I don’t feel like I owe the Rangers.”
From now on, let’s just hope that Hamilton speaks with his performance on the field. He needs to just continue to play at the level he has. He is is an elite player and I look forward to his continued success.
