VIDEO: Bo Ryan Appears On Mike & Mike About Jarrod Uthoff
The Jarrod Uthoff controversy is taking over the sports world. On Thursday, Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan appeared on Mike & Mike to discuss why he will not let the redshirt freshman transfer from the school. Currently, Ryan has blocked Uthoff from 25 schools and the number grows everyday.
Ryan is quickly ruining his reputation and no one seems to believe his story. Ryan says that he is doing what every coach in the nation is doing. I highly doubt that. I understand that some coaches put restrictions on players, but this amount is insane.
The entire Big 10 and Marquette make sense. Those are rival schools. Iowa State and the entire ACC? Not so much. Ryan tried to justify his stance but he just looks awful. He is basically ruining this kid’s chance of succeeding in basketball. He does not want to be there, yet Ryan will not let him go.
I expect after this awful interview that Uthoff will be free to go. Once the PR storm starts, Ryan will have to relent. His reputation is falling off a cliff and he needs to save it as fast as possible. Letting Uthoff go is the only way he can do that.
Ryan has lost a lot of respect in the college basketball world. The future Hall of Famer is in a media nightmare. Pundits are laughing at him. Casual fans are disgusted. All of this awful and the poor freshman is being held up by it. Let him go, Bo. Let him go.
