Jason Giambi Flips the Bird
Jason Giambi hit a pinch-hit walk off home run on Wednesday for the Colorado Rockies against the Los Angeles Dodgers. And just seconds after doing so you can see that he extended the middle finger of his left hand up near his nose while looking out towards Scott Elbert. The ball traveled a mere 440 feet in that thin Colorado air to win the game for the Rockies with an 8-5 score.
This was discovered by Matt Smith (@JimMcKaySaidSo) and sent in a Tweet to Amy K. Nelson (@AmyKNelson).
This is no surprise to me at all as Jason Giambi has always been one to express his emotions on the field. But you’d think that he would say that gesture for when the pitcher could actually see him. There’s no telling if MLB will fine Giambi for his actions but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. I’m sure Giambi would just say that he didn’t do it on purpose but I’m not buying that explanation because what kind of guy is going to itch his nose after a game winning home run? Stay tuned to see if disciplinary actions will be handed down.
