American Gymnast Aly Raisman Has Some Fantastic Parents
Aly Raisman is a very good gymnast but that is not the reason for this post. She qualified for the all around final and her parents might have reacted the best out of anyone. Seriously, these parents need to get the Best Parent Award or something from the 2012 Summer Olympics.
I understand that watching your daughter compete can be nerve-wracking but this almost too much. I love the body english that her mom was using while her daughter was competing. She was dipping and dodging like she was auditioning for the sequel to Dodgeball.
It apparently worked, since Aly Raisman is moving on to the finals. Her parents take great pride in her and that is great to see. However, there is a little bit of a line when you are mic’d up. She was going nuts but maybe you want to bring that back just a little bit. Then again, it would not be as funny if they were calm.
We must hope that they keep a camera on her parents the rest of the Olympics. Heck, I would pay them to come to other events and react. They could be the super fans that America really needs in these Olympics. Need a player to get some confidence? Have the Raismans yell down from the stands. Need a little bit of help on a shot? Have the Raismans break out some body english leaning.
Who knew the stars of the Olympics so far would be a set of parents? Good times, these Olympics.
