Team USA Survives Scare Against Spain To Win Gold Medal At Olympics
Team USA did their job and won the gold medal in basketball at the Olympics but it was not easy. Spain gave the team everything that they could handle and the game was close the entire time. Thanks to some clutch plays from LeBron James and Kevin Durant, the team was able to come home with gold.
It honestly looked like Team USA was going to lose. The officiating was bad all around and it kept the game from developing any type of flow. This played to the favor of Spain, as they favor a slow down type of game. They also had some great play from Juan Carlos Navarro and Pau Gasol, who did their very best to keep Spain in the game.
Before he was saddled with foul troubles, LeBron was doing everything he could to help the team win. He was playing defense against anyone and everyone. He was also doing a great job of setting the table for his teammates while also making some clutch shots when Spain was making a run.
The star of the game was KD. He was an absolute monster on the offensive end and was the guy the team turned to make a big shot. Every time that Spain was close in the fourth quarter, Durant would deliver with another great shot. His shooting was amazing the entire Olympics and he saved his best for the gold medal game.
Team USA had flaws and they were all exposed during the gold medal game. They struggle with teams that have size and they simply do not have enough depth in the post to withstand that. They can end up too iso-happy and it ends up killing the offense but all of that did not matter as the team still managed to bring home the gold.
