VH1 Pulls Reality Show “Ev And Ocho Starring Chad Johnson And His Wife After Wideout’s Arrest
Chad Johnson has had three days that he would probably like to forget. Saturday, he was arrested for head butting his wife Evelyn Lozada during an argument. Sunday, the Miami Dolphins released him due to the negative coverage around the event. Finally, VH1 pulled the new reality show “Ev and Ocho” and does not plan to air it.
“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”
This certainly is a tough time for the Chad Johnson family. First off, his marriage is probably over at that. I’m sure violence against your significant other is a pretty good way to chase them away. Secondly, no team or TV show is going to want to touch him with a ten foot pole. He’s poison right now.
This is the first time that Johnson has been arrested but it does show some disturbing signs. If the police report is accurate, Johnson not only struck his wife enough to force her to get stitches, he also drove around looking for. He might have been going to apologize but something about that just seems off. A lot of people always that Ocho was misunderstood but that seems to be the wrong thought.
I will be shocked if Johnson ever ends up playing in the league again. I also will be shocked if ends up doing anything else with his life for the near future. No company is going to want to attach their reputation to a washed up athlete who just went to jail for head butting his wife hard enough that she had to get stitches. That would be a PR nightmare just waiting to happen.
