Nick Saban is the head coach of Alabama and he is also someone that I would not want to cross. He always seems so angry and it looks like Wednesday was the final straw. The reporters who were present for his conference were treated to a Saban explosion.
I hate to be negative with anybody, but when you people start writing stuff about people that we’re playing that doesn’t give them the proper respect, that’s not fair. It’s not fair to their players, who work hard and earn it, it’s not fair to our players who need to respect them, and to make presumptions like you all make, really upsets me. It’s so unfair. You don’t need to write about that. There’s so many good things that you can write about happening around here that people would be interested in. I’d love to see some of you do a little bit of research and figure it out. It would really do my heart good.
The above quote is my favorite part of the video. Saban is talking about the upcoming game with Western Kentucky and how the media is not giving that team the proper respect. Bama should roll them over but Saban does not want his players thinking like that. That is a great coaching move by Saban and it is one that should be applauded.
Saban really wasn’t doing this for his opponent but it is a smart way of keeping his team focused. The media has been talking up a Bama blowout, so this is a good way to keep everyone grounded. It may have sounded mean, but Saban did his job with this press conference.
Hopefully his post game press conference on Saturday is much nicer. I feel bad for those poor reporters there.
