Tim Tebow gets a ton of attention for being a backup quarterback. It seems like everyone wants to talk about the New York Jets backup, for whatever reason. Brian Hartline, who happens to be playing against the Jets this week, seems to have found the proper comparison. He believes that Tebow would fit right in with Kim Kardashian.
“That’s you guys, how much you love [him],” Hartline said of the media attention Tebow receives. “Everybody loves him, but the same people go with the Kardashians. I don’t know what they did, either.
“They’re on [magazine] covers everywhere. I mean, honestly. I know they’re really good people, do a lot of charity work. I just don’t know how they got started.”
Tim Kardashian? Is that the message here? Hartline then backtracked a bit, saying Tebow actually had done more than Kim or Chloe, that he actually won in college and in Denver.
Even if Hartline did back off of those comments, that is kind of a low blow to be throwing at a guy like Tebow. Being named in the same sentence as a Kardashian is just awful. I am not sure if he can ever recover from such a blow. That is a huge mark against your reputation.
Then again, Hartline isn’t far off. Tebow has accomplished more than those two, but it is not be a long shot. Right now, he plays less than ten plays a game and still gets all the attention. Not exactly fair to the rest of the team.
As long as “Tim Kardashian” doesn’t become a meme, I think we are safe.
