Jeremy Mayfield hasn’t been seen in NASCAR circles for a few years now. The talented driver ran afoul of the drug testing rules and hasn’t been seen from since. However, he is trying the old tried and true tactic to get back into racing. He found the radio show that Brian France was on and he called him.

Trust me, it was stranger than it sounded. Poor France had no idea what was going to happen. Mayfield said it was the only way he could get ahold of France but that doesn’t sound right. Mayfield was talking about suing the sport for a year or two, so he probably can contact someone who could help him out.
I mean, who in the right mind thinks a radio show is the best way to accomplish anything? France was off guard, so maybe Mayfield thought he could get some good PR out of it. However, people are calling Mayfield nuts and with good reason. A radio show is not the best way to get on someone’s good side.
I want to hear the off the air conversation France had with the radio host after this call in. That would be a lot better than anything that was said on air. I am sure he was not happy having to deal with that issue over the air.
Just another day in racing.
