When rap artists hit big they tend to become very egotistic. So when one of them gets denied, they tend to cause quite the scene. It’s actually quite similar to famous athletes when you think about it.
So what happens when you take one of the biggest stars in the NBA and one of the most famous rap stars in the nation? You get quite a big mess to be honest. And it’s not the NBA star causing all the drama.
According to some of LeBron James’ close friends, rapper Lil Wayne is obsessed and desperate to have a closer relationship with LeBron. The funny thing is, rapper Jay-Z has a tight bond with LeBron. So is Lil Wayne jealous of Jay-Z’s relationship with LeBron?
It seems to me that Lil Wayne may have a slight obsession with the MVP. However, the rapper claims that his issue stems from the fact that LeBron won’t give him any respect. Allegedly Lil Wayne has sent numerous concert invites, birthday invitations, and video invites to LeBron in the past years.
LeBron declined the invitations and his friends claim, “LeBron is extremely busy, he respects Lil Wayne and his peers in the entertainment industry, but he just doesn’t like to be bothered by that.” The inside source also stated that Lil Wayne has an “unhealthy obsession” with the NBA star. Another part of me wonders if this is an attempt for Lil Wayne to re-enter himself into the music world; he hasn’t exactly been a top pick for events lately.
Even though I’m not the biggest LeBron fan, I’m going to give him credit for not associating with the rapper. The rapper has been kicked out of a Miami Heat game, claimed he slept with Chris Bosh’s wife, and is allegedly banned from all NBA arenas. I’d definitely say that LeBron is making the smart choice by not associating with a guy that recently spent eight months in prison.
