The WWE is all about attracting headlines. Over the past week or so, they have gained attention due to a storyline that has Glenn Beck all upset. This week, they are going to get some more press as the company will induct Donald Trump into their Hall of Fame on April 6.
It might seem strange to have a guy like Trump join the HOF but he was involved in a storyline a few years back. He also helped host a few Wrestlemanias in his time. Since the company likes to have a celebrity join the fray every year, they really could not have picked a better guy than Trump. If you want to gain a cheap headline or two, this is certainly one way to do it.
With the way that Trump has been over the last few years, this might be one of the best things to happen to him. There is not a way for this to be spun negatively, unless he decides to make some really stupid comments about something. You can never rule that out with him, so this could lead to an interesting situation down the road. However, I think that this should be able to go over without an incident.
It may be something that gets looked at weird, but if the national media ends up covering this just once, it makes it worth it for the company. If the mainstream media is talking about pro wrestling, it is better than not being talked about at all.
