Even if you’re not a fan of horse racing, the Kentucky Derby is always exciting to watch each year and the best part about the 2013 Kentucky Derby–it was almost unpredictable when it came to picking a winner considering how many different horses seemed capable of winning. From Oxbow to Normandy Invasion to Revolutionary, nobody knew what to expect, but it was Orb who came up on top as this year’s 2013 Kentucky Derby winner.
Orb was the overall favorite heading in and Joel Rosario has to be feeling great after winning his first Kentucky Derby ever–especially after winning a huge chunk of change earlier in the year at the Dubai World Cup. The conditions may not have been the best, but Rosario and Orb came up big when it mattered the most in one of the biggest sporting events in the country.
At first, Orb seemed to have gotten off to a rough start, but the horse picked it up towards the end of the race and came out of nowhere to take the lead when it mattered the most. Rosario has built quite a resume over the years, but the argument can be made that this year’s Kentucky Derby was his best race yet.
If he wasn’t feeling like he was on top of the horse racing world before today–Rosario is certainly going to be feeling like it now after pulling off one heck of a victory on Saturday during the 2013 Kentucky Derby.
