Rap superstar Jay-Z recently started his own sports management company called “Roc Nation,” and it has attracted quite the attention as of late. One of his newest, big name clients is recently graduated Tulsa Shock guard Skylar Diggins.
The former McDonald’s All-American played college ball at Notre Dame and was selected as the third overall pick by the Shock in this year’s draft. Diggins is one of the future stars of the WNBA, having won her large share of past awards and achievements and becoming Notre Dame’s all-time scoring leader. She has won the Big East player of the year the past two seasons as well as making the Associated Press All-American First Team each of those seasons.
With all of the limelight endured at such a young age, Jay-Z appears ready to only continue to add to it. As a graduation gift, Roc Nation presented Diggins with a brand new 2013 white Mercedes SUV.
Is this really what you want your young client thinking, that even though she is already set to make a fortune, she will also receive unnecessary perks like this from Roc Nation? I understand the congratulatory move by Jay-Z and company, but the young woman doesn’t need anymore favors thrown her way. She definitely doesn’t need her name in the spotlight anymore than it already has.
In case you never heard about the incident, a couple months back in February there were alleged nude photos leaked of Diggins that were supposedly from her earlier years at Notre Dame. This is not the first time something like this has happened, as back in 2011 a similar situation occurred and Diggins refuted the accusation that the photos were in fact of her.
In any event, Diggins is a lot more well off in the bank account now than she was a few months back. She also is on the fast road to fame under the wings of Jay-Z and his Mercedes-giving company Roc Nation.
