Eddie Lacy Shows Up to Green Bay Packers’ Training Camp a Bit Chubby

How big would you allow your rookie running back to get in order to become NFL-ready? Well, let’s just see how much leeway the Green Bay Packers have given rookie running back Eddie Lacy.

The national champion and former Alabama Crimson Tide star has been known for his quickness and elusiveness on the field, but it’s what he has been doing off the field this offseason that has gotten him in a bit of trouble. Take a look at this recent training camp photo that was released a couple days ago — it might surprise you how big Lacy looks.

As you can see, the picture on the left is of Lacy during early rookie training camps shortly after April’s NFL Draft and the picture on the right is of Lacy this week at training camp.

Lacy should note that rookies earn their playing time and if they don’t meet the requirements of the team, including weight, then they will likely find a nice warm spot on the bench until they can fix that. He might be on an eating plan from here on out because of his poor eating habits in the offseason thus far.

He has admitted being guilty of eating too much fast food in the offseason and not taking care of his body like he should, and that is clearly evident. He has reportedly weighed in at 238 pounds — a pretty generous number considering the apparent size difference he has experienced since being drafted.

The photo could be an unflattering angle, but his eating habits need to improve if he is going to last in this league instead of eat his way out.
