Each day there seems to be some sort of new twits in the case surrounding Aaron Hernandez and the biggest story from this week was easily the handwritten letter that hit the internet the former New England Patriots tight end sent to someone–even though Hernandez specifically asked for the letter not to be shared on social media. Many wondered how Hernandez’s letter managed to hit the internet and now it appears we know just how much it cost to obtain the letter–a hefty price of $18,000.

No, that is not a mistake as TMZ was willing to pay that much just  to get their hands on the letter so they could be the first to share it with the internet–which hopefully paid off for the popular website. With all of the evidence stacked against him so far, it’s difficult to imagine Hernandez being out anything but guilty, but he made it clear in this letter how he believes he is innocent and how “God put me in this situation for a reason.”

Good luck convincing us with all of that Aaron.

Only time will tell when it comes to finding out Hernandez’s fate, but no matter how much he pleas his innocence in letters–the future certainly doesn’t look bright for him. It may have come at a hefty price, but thanks to TMZ chalking up the dough for this letter, the country has a little understanding of what’s been going through the mind of Hernandez during his stay in prison.
