Obviously, this was by far the hardest of the characters to re-cast, but hear us out: Sheldon is extremely self-centered and often doesn’t realize that his self-centeredness causes problems and makes him socially awkward. Now do you see the resemblance between him and Kobe? And yes, they both have book smarts and speak multiple languages.

We don’t know what Amy’s excuse is, but she’ll never stop trying to get Sheldon to sleep with her.

Another difficult character to re-cast is Howard because there aren’t many athletes who are as dorky and as much of a mama’s boy as he is. However, Michael Phelps is definitely a mama’s boy, he has a bizarre, disturbing wild side and he can be socially awkward at times. All those characteristics add up to this match.

For Leslie, we needed an athlete who is pretty good-looking, smart and has a sense a humor. Does that not describe Lolo Jones perfectly? She’s got that sexy attitude and smart-aleck spunk that make her a crowd favorite as long as she’s not in the limelight for too long at a time. That’s why Leslie is always a hit on the show.
