Sports commercials are a mainstay of advertising today. As more stars in the sports world get endorsement deals, we get to see their skills and personality. However, the classic sports commercials have longevity and some of the biggest stars to ever grace their respective sports. Let me know what you think should be on the list as I look at some of the funniest and most entertaining sports commercials of all time.

20. Aaron Rodgers - State Farm "State of Imitation"

The birth of the discount double check featured actors doing Rodgers' championship belt touchdown celebration. Adrian Martinez's quick cameo as the crazy Packers fan has made him a virtual celebrity and repeat cast member in subsequent State Farm commercials.

19. Dikembe Mutombo - Geico "Blocking a Shot"

The finger wag is immortalized in another way. Part of the reason why this is on the list is the creativity behind the spot. The swatting of the Geico letter is a nice touch.

18. Bob Uecker - Miller Lite "Front Row"

This really just comes down to the catchphrase at the end. Uecker continues to be a celebrity in the baseball world, and will always have an open seat in the front row.

17. Jason Sudeikis - NBC Sports "An American Coach in London"

The long-form version of the Premier League-related ad features great acting by Sudeikis. It was a great commercial to showcase NBC Sports' Premier League broadcasting contract that started last year.

16. Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi - Nike Tennis "Just Do It"

This was a fun commercial from 1995 that captured the star power of two of the greatest Americans to ever play tennis, released at the height of tennis hysteria in the U.S.

15. Dennis Hopper - Nike "I Love Football"

This commercial from the 1995 Super Bowl is still the favorite big-game ad for many people. Hopper is able to eloquently say what many people are thinking about the beloved sport of football. He plays a bit of a crazy referee. This spoof of an iconic movie still gets people pumped up.

14. Greg Maddox & Tom Glavine - Nike "Chicks Dig The Long Ball"

Before performance-enhancing drug use was under scrutiny in MLB, Nike unveiled this commercial featuring two of the best pitchers in recent history. It also featured Mark McGwire as the big bopper. Heather Locklear also makes an appearance.

13. Steve Mizerak - Miller Lite "Just Showing Off"

Mizerak was known as "The Miz" and dominated pool with 17 career titles. He shows off his ability here in the "lite beer from Miller" commercial that was part of a series featuring sports personalities from all sports. Dick Butkus and Bubba Smith starred in other commercials with Rodney Dangerfield.

12. Soccer Stars - Nike "Winner Stays"

This year's World Cup commercial from Nike was a four-minute endeavor that featured a pick-up game turning into a match with the biggest stars in soccer including Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Neymar. It was a great way to get fans ready for the World Cup, and brought back many memories for those of us who grew up on the neighborhood field.

11. Tom Hardy - Nike "Find Your Greatness"

The Nike theme continues with this ad that actually inspires. It tells us that "greatness is for all of us." Tom Hardy narrates the ad that inspired a large social media campaign.

10. John Clayton - ESPN "This is Sportscenter"

Clayton seems to know everything when it comes to football. He was willing to let his hair down and have a little fun in another ode to a popular movie that sheds light on his studio space and love of metal music. This one is always good for a laugh.

9. Charles Barkley - Nike "I am Not a Role Model"

This commercial sparked quite the conversation regarding the role of athletes as role models. He spoke the truth in many ways, but people were free to consider him a role model. Barkley's entire career has been quite a journey, and his foray into the public realm started here.

8. Terry Tate - Reebok "Office Linebacker"

"Terrible" Terry plays the enforcer in an office and just lights up employees who aren't following the rules. This first aired during the 2003 Super Bowl. Even if you think you don't want to watch the whole thing, you can't turn it off.

7. Tiger Woods - Nike "Nike Golf"

The famous bouncing golf ball commercial came before any controversy regarding woods. It is all but confirmed that he truly did this while being filmed, and that it took only two takes. Rumor has it that the only reason why the first take didn't make the cut was because he went longer than 30 seconds.

6. Clydesdales - Budweiser "Football"

The Budweiser Clydesdales are a staple of the Super Bowl, but playing football and kicking the field goal was a novel idea. This first aired during the 1996 Super Bowl. Supposedly, they usually go for two, but this kick attempt is pretty flawless.

5. Sugar Ray Leonard, Robert Duran and Sons - 7-Up "Feelin' 7-Up"

This is a bit of a heartwarming commercial involving boxers, which shows how good the concept was from the soda company. Now, people may not come together over a 7-Up, but it does show that the simplest things can bond people together.

4. Cam Newton & Nate - NFL "Play 60"

"And become your mom's favorite player?" Nate steals the show in a commercial that continues to be played for the Play 60 campaign. The back-and-forth banter is humorous and witty. This can be watched hundreds of times and still be funny.

3. Bo Jackson - Nike "Bo Knows"

Nike capitalizes on Jackson's freakish athleticism, showing he could do just about anything.

2. Larry Bird & Michael Jordan - McDonald's "The Showdown"

McDonald's recently released the sequel to this trick shot masterpiece. It was creative and imaginative, and ranged from believable to unorthodox. The impossible shots are what made it entertaining.

1. Mean Joe Green & Tommy Okon - Coca-Cola "Coke Adds Life"

This commercial from 1979 still gets aired during football games today. Coke showed off Mean Joe's soft side, increasing his appeal. Now when he is showed in highlights or on the sideline, people remember both his toughness on the field and his refreshing demeanor off the field.
