Dutee Chand, who had to miss the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games due to a controversial testosterone test rule, has appealed to the court of arbitration for sport against her indefinite ban from any sort of competition. Supposedly she had failed what is referred to as a gender test.

Many have attacked the testing as unscientific and potentially very discriminatory, n toting hat her raised testosterone levels are simply a natural result of hyperandrogenism.

“I cried for three straight days after reading what people were saying about me [online]. They were saying, ‘Dutee: Boy or girl?’ and I thought, how can you say those things? I have always been a girl.”

Some coaches have even asked Chand to go through treatment to change the testosterone level in her body.

“I feel it is wrong to change your body for sport participation," said Chand. "I’m not changing for anyone. It is like in some societies where they used to cut off the hand of people caught stealing. I feel like this is the same kind of primitive, unethical rule. It goes too far."
