There is nothing better on this planet than sports, at least that’s what most of us diehard sports fans believe. Being a fan of sports stretches far more than just watching a game on television. It’s about becoming one with the team. If you want to be a true sports junkie, these are the 10 things you must own.

Speaking of watching sports, a TV sports package is a must have for every sports junkie. I mean, it’s fine to sit back, turn on the television and watch whatever game the cable/satellite company dictates you can watch on the channels in your area. However, it’s much better to have the power to watch the most elite game that is playing on any given night.

A good way to acquire a ticket stub from one of the greatest games ever played in franchise history is by attending every contest, and a good way to do that is by owning season tickets. Every diehard fan talks about getting season tickets to their favorite team at some point in their life, but only true sports junkies actually get it done. I can’t think of a better way to spend retirement than to attend every home game of a favorite team.

The average fan may laugh, but only true sports junkies know the importance of a stress ball. When the game is getting heated and a referee makes a bad call, it’s much better to pump the stress ball than to punch the wall. It’s also nice because if something bad happens, throwing the stress ball at the television usually doesn’t do any harm. Of course, I would only suggest doing that in the most intense situations.

One way or another, sports junkies need to get their sports fix. The worst feeling is the waiting game in between contests. Football fans know this better than everyone else. Fantasy sports are the best way to get the necessary fix. All sports junkies have a fantasy team, and it usually has a name that resembles their favorite team or player in some creative way.

Whether it’s never washing a jersey, kissing your significant other before high-fiving your friends, taking a sip of beer before every bite of pizza or making sure the exact change that was in your pocket during a big win remains in your pocket for every game for the rest of the season (yeah, I know I’m hardcore), every sports junkie has a game-day ritual. Superstitions or not, the ritual always seems to work in the game’s biggest moments.

The most important thing a sports junkie can own is not a physical object. Instead, it’s an opinionated voice. Talking smack and coming up with intelligent responses against a rival fan is one of the greatest parts about sports. But remember, it’s important that it always stays verbal in a relatively positive way. True sports junkies always show good sportsmanship and never allow a debate come to physical violence.
