After being a goal down, FC Goa came back with a spectacular performance to get a goal in injury time to notch their first victory of the season. They not only had 55 percent of the possession, but also had a shots-on-goal advantage of 14-3. The strong attack was also evident in the corners discrepancy, with Goa having 6 compared to Delhi's 2.

FC Goa coach Barry Zico was understandably upbeat and optimistic following the victory.

"I’m an optimistic guy," Zico explained. "I believe till the end that the best will happen. As a player and a coach I lost and won many games at the last minute. In football anything can happen. I thank all the FC Goa supporters for the love, encouragement and support we received through the weeks. Even when we were not winning. We can now gift them this win. It’s the first win of many."

In the post game press conference, Zico was asked to address the issues he saw in Indian football. As has been stated all along, he referred to the problems with the grassroots level.

"From what I see, there should be better grassroots development especially at the under 15 and under 17 level, Zico said. "If we prepare then when they are young, we will be able to see better footballers and can nurture talent."
