Some athletes are known for being less-than-friendly on the field, but some are known for the same off the field. While they may be rich and famous, not all athletes are desirable dates, especially for your pride and joy. For many different reasons, here are 15 athletes you would not let your daughter date.

The 2012 NFL MVP running back was the league’s best back for years. The record holder for most rushing yards in a single game, Adrian Peterson was indicted on child abuse charges and turned himself in to police. Peterson has since been placed on the NFL’s Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission list, which requires Peterson to stay away from all team activities.

“Big Ben” was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Lake Tahoe while there for a celebrity golf tournament in 2008. Just one year later, the Pittsburgh Steelers two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback was under investigation for sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman inside a Georgia nightclub women’s restroom.

Tiger’s well-publicized infidelity scandal rocked the sports world in 2009. The man who could seemingly do no wrong was on his way to becoming golf’s greatest ever. Woods attended sex addiction therapy and divorced from his wife after confessing to sleeping with 120 other women.

The man is nicknamed the “Cannibal of Ajax”, for goodness' sake. Luis Suarez has become more known for his dirty antics on the soccer field rather than his stellar play. In addition to his three biting incidents, Suarez was found guilty of racially abusing fellow footballer Patrice Evra.

The Cardinals cornerback was the star of a viral video from HBO’s “Hard Knocks” series when he struggled to name all of his children. Fathering twelve children with eight different women can do that to you.

The 49ers outside linebacker might be the best pass rusher in the NFL. The problem for Aldon Smith and the 49ers is that for the past two seasons, No. 99 has rarely been on the field. Smith missed five games after voluntarily entering rehab in the middle of the 2013 season. Prior to the start of the 2014 NFL season, Aldon got a nine-game suspension for three felony assault weapon chargers and two misdemeanor DUI allegations.

“Fear the beard!” No, seriously, fear the beard. While Brian Wilson has not been in serious trouble with the law, the Dodgers' outgoing relief pitcher might be insane. Anyone who decides to grow a beard for over four years and dye it black is someone I don’t know if I can trust with my daughter.

The No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Jon “Bones” Jones threatened to kill Daniel Cormier in a leaked video following a joint ESPN interview. After Cormier told Jones he wanted to spit in his face, the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jones responded by saying, “I’m not saying I would fight you. I said I would kill you…” Jones was also accused of writing homophobic slurs on Instagram.

Alex Rodriguez is probably the least-liked player in all of baseball. Known for his massive record-breaking contracts, the career .300 hitter has fallen on hard times. After battling injuries for a large part of the last few seasons, A-Rod was suspended for the entire 2014 season for violating the league’s performance-enhancing-drugs policy.

The former Kansas University star was issued a felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in March 2011. Talib was accused of firing a gun at his sister’s boyfriend.

The 2011 National League MVP and 2007 NL Rookie of the Year, Ryan Braun was one of baseball’s truly elite hitters. Braun has since fallen from glory after testing positive for elevated testosterone in 2011. The Brewers' outfielder got off with no suspension due to a technicality, only to be suspended for 65 games two years later as a result of his name appearing in the Biogenesis report.

Rolando McClain’s career seemed to be over following his departure from the Oakland Raiders. Shocking to most, McClain has had a solid season as a starter for the Dallas Cowboys this season. In 2012, McClain was sentenced to 180 days in prison for assault and other chargers after allegedly threatening to kill a man in his hometown of Decatur, Alabama.

First let me say I have absolutely no problem with Chris “Birdman” Andersen’s tattoo-covered body. The real issue is the reason for Andersen’s disqualification from the NBA in 2006: Birdman was suspended for violating the league’s anti-drug policy by testing positive for a banned substance falling under the category of “drugs of abuse.”
