Every year, a group of aging star athletes moves their way out of the limelight and makes way for a new batch of stars. Here are 15 athletes who have enjoyed a lot of success, but who will suffer a significant fall off in production this year.

Marshawn Lynch just recently rattled off his second beast mode run and is still going strong, but as he ages, his production is going to drop off at the running back position. Especially if he leaves the Seattle Seahawks, where he has a good thing going, we could see Lynch slowly turn into an average running back starting next season.

His personal numbers were really good again this past season, but the results for the New Orleans Saints weren't the best. If New Orleans doesn't improve their defense, Drew Brees is going to have to throw almost every play, which makes their offense very predictable. That could mean a sharp decline in overall production.

While the Dallas Mavericks are as strong as ever, Dirk Nowitzki may be on his way down. Especially since he plays a smaller role in the offense now, his numbers are likely to go down. So, while his team may have more success than usual, he personally will not.

12. Kobe Bryant

Obviously, Kobe Bryant has already gone into a decline, but as he ages further, it may get worse for him. There's a very good chance next season will be his last, and NBA fans can only hope that he won't decline enough that it will in any way taint the rest of his illustrious career.

Arian Foster has had a lot of success in recent years, but he's started really getting banged up lately. With the grind an NFL running back goes through, his body might not be able to hold up enough to keep him at an elite level for much longer.

10. Miguel Cabrera

The Detroit Tigers as a whole are really aging a lot, and it could start to catch up with them in 2015. By no means will Miguel Cabrera be bad in 2015, but he could see a steep decline in his production. Since his protection in the lineup, Victor Martinez is also aging; both of their numbers could go down next season.

Frank Gore was pretty impressive at the beginning of this season, but next year his workload is going to have to come way down. There's a good chance that Carlos Hyde could become the starter next season, so naturally, Gore's numbers are going to come down in 2015.

The San Antonio Spurs aren't looking so hot right now, and it's starting to look like Tim Duncan is near the end of the road. He could have gone out on top last season, but he came back. Now, he has to prove that he can still get it done even in his old age. Only time will tell, but being one step slower may cost him a shot at another NBA title.

Sidney Crosby is one of the elite players in the NHL, but his many injuries over the years may catch up with him this year. Even though he's not that old, his body has already taken a beating. That alone could make him less effective in 2015.

6. Carmelo Anthony

When Carmelo Anthony decided to return to the New York Knicks, he made one thing clear: money and comfortability were more important than winning championships. He could have gone to the Chicago Bulls and joined a contender, but he didn't, and now he's struggling with injuries. In his current situation, it's hard to imagine his numbers improving from past year's.

Even though he hasn't become the superstar many thought he would be when he came into the league, Reggie Bush has carved out a nice career for himself. However, he's starting to get edged out by Joique Bell for the starting running back spot in Detroit, and Bush could find himself as more of a change-of-pace back in the 2015 season.

Paul Pierce is having a renaissance with the Washington Wizards this season, but it may not last into next season. This could be his last chance at a title, so he's going to be very motivated. However, after this season, it's doubtful he will have much left in the tank.

3. Dwyane Wade

It's been well-documented that Dwyane Wade has been breaking down physically for a while. Still, he's been able to be consistently successful, even this season. He may not be able to do that much longer, however, and Chris Bosh is going to have to take over as the leader of the team.

2. David Ortiz

David Ortiz is the best designated hitter of all time, but 2015 may finally prove to be his demise. He's getting up there in age and he can only do it for so long. With other big hitters in the Boston Red Sox's lineup, a lot of pressure will be taken off of him, and his numbers may decline as a result.

Peyton Manning is starting to show signs of age, as he hasn't performed well the last few weeks of this NFL season. Since he is really getting up there in age, you can expect to see more of his average performances than his elite ones starting next season.
