Bangladesh is still trying to live to up to what they did in 1999, defeating a Wasim Akram-led Pakistan team. Since then, however, there hasn’t been much progress as the likes of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka have passed them.
With a solid batting order, Bangladesh has a chance to remind the world just how potent of a team they actually have.
In addition to Bangladesh, Group A includes Afghanistan, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England, and Scotland. Mashrafe Mortaza will be the team’s captain.
Keep an eye on Shakib Al Hasan who is already considered one of the greatest all-rounders of the modern generation. Taskin Ahmed – despite lacking experience – will be a force to be reckoned with in the tournament. He’s coming off of a solid debut performance against India and the world is now ready to watch him turn into a star.
This is a list of the Bangladesh squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup to be held from February 14 to March 29, 2015.
