Are Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn Getting Married on Valentine’s Day?

There’s this rumor going around that Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn could be getting married today, which happens to be Valentine’s Day — the most romantic day of the year.
Now much of it is simply speculation. Woods withdrew from this weekend’s tournament in Pebble Beach, he flew to Colorado to watch Vonn compete in the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and even a notable ski writer dropped a hint about the possible nuptials.
From Nathaniel Vinton of The New York Daily News:
“Woods and Vonn have become a megawatt sports celebrity pairing in recent years, and in Colorado the last two weeks there has been a persistent rumor that their marriage is imminent, perhaps even on Valentine’s Day. The women’s slalom is scheduled for Saturday — and Vonn is not expected to enter.”
Now as ForTheWin points out, rumors in the golf/skiing world tend to be true. It’s not like the NFL or NBA, where rumors fly around like feces in a monkey cage. There were rumors of Woods and Vonn getting together weeks before they made the announcement, so it only seems wise to think there’s a hint of truth to this latest whisper.
Will it happen? No one will know for sure until it does. Still, is it interesting to think that Woods and Vonn could soon be the sports world’s new power couple? You betcha.
