It has been nearly 20 years since 'Space Jam' took off in theaters. Before the nostalgia dragon fires up your memory lane, take some time to also realize that multiple decades is way too long to go without a 'Space Jam' sequel. In anticipation of another installment that should’ve been here yesterday, here’s a revamped Toon Squad starting five.

Sorry Bugs Bunny, but you’re getting up there; what are you, like 75 now? We’ll put the sharpshooting Splash Brother Stephen Curry in your place. I think it’ll work out just fine.

The Monstars will always have length, so the Toon Squad will have to counter with speed and shooting. Harden brings the observable universe’s best beard, best Euro step and the ability to hit a three from several AUs away.

Bill Murray is just as popular in 2015 as he was in 1996, if not more. With the premier talent of the NBA flanking Murray, expect this “6-foot-2 in boots” swingman to be clearing out on all the isolation plays.

2. Kevin Durant — SF

In space, your foot heals faster. Don’t worry about it, it’s science. Durant will have an extended role in being the Toon Squad’s lone long-man, but the Thunder star is yet another shooter who can dwarf the Monstars.

LeBron James would be the Michael Jordan of this reboot, and if the Tune Squad were to lose, our galaxy would never forgive him.
