The Colorado Avalanche have seen their promising season slip through their hands. A slump before the All-star break continued through the remainder of the season leaving Colorado looking toward the future.
And what a bright future it is, the Avalanche’s top two scorers, Paul Stastny and Matt Duchene, are 25 and 20 years old. Both were selected to this years All-star game.
Duchene was a first round pick in 2009 and has continued to grow into a well rounded two-way player. He was first in rookie scoring a year ago, and also helped Colorado to the playoffs last year.
The Avalanche have also added to their bright future by attaining Erik Johnson, the 1st overall pick in 2006. He also won a silver medal with the United States Olympic Team in the Vancouver Olympics.
With 17 Players at or under 25 years of age, the sky is the limit for the up and coming Avalanche.
