Week 6 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire
By Adam McGill
The fantasy basketball season has been flying by in 2012, with the playoffs approaching in just over a month. To help you make that push towards the playoffs, here is the latest edition of my fantasy basketball waiver wire:
Small Leagues: 8-10 man leagues
PG Devin Harris, UTA – The former Wisconsin Badger has played much stronger in recent weeks. He looks more confident with his jump shot, but he needs to get more than 25 minutes a game from head coach Tyrone Corbin to be a consistent fantasy contributor.
SG Vince Carter, DAL – “Vinsanity” was the most added player in all basketball leagues this past week. He is finally starting with the Mavs’ recent injury woes, and has scored 42 points with 7 3-pointers in the last two games alone.
SF Michael Beasley, MIN – Beasley is finally healthy following a nagging foot sprain and is back in the Timberwolves’ starting five. He has 52 points and 15 boards in his last two games.
PF Trevor Booker, WSH – Booker has been the only bright spot in the Wizards’ offense; as he has posted 30 points, 4 steals, and 3 blocks in the last two games.
C Drew Gooden, MIL – “Goodyear” has replaced the injured Andrew Bogut, after the Australian star broke his ankle last week. Gooden has made three straight starts, averaging 20.6 points in just over 31 minutes a game.
Large Leagues: 10-14 man leagues
PG Rodrigue Beaubois, DAL – “Ro Beau” has been a pleasant surprise for owners’ desperate for dimes, with at least seven assists in each of the last three games.
SG Jerryd Bayless, TOR – Bayless is back starting in Toronto and scored 49 points in his last three contests. He is a very tenacious shooting guard, who will consistently score and battle for every rebound.
SF Austin Daye, DET – Daye has been spectacular off the bench for Detroit, by averaging 13.8 points in the last five games.
PF Channing Frye, PHO – Frye is back in the Suns’ starting lineup and is one of the most versatile big man in the game, as he can also knock down 3-pointers. He tends to get in foul trouble, but if he can remedy that than he can be a very valuable addition in deeper leagues.
C Matt Bonner, SA – Bonner may not play many minutes, but he knows how to make the most of his limited playing time. He has averaged 12 points in the last six games, including a staggering 20 3-pointers in that span.
