Oregon Deliveryman Predicts The Linsanity
Nostradamus predicted the end of the world as do the ancient Mayans, but who could have predicted emerging New York Knicks’ star Jeremy Lin’s fate? An Oregon FedEx deliveryman, that’s who.
CNN.com broke a story Monday evening that a FedEx deliveryman from Oregon named Ed Weiland predicted the coming of a savior, for the Knicks at least. That savior is Jeremy Lin.
Weiland has always been enamored by statistics as a way to predict the future so on his blog HoopsAnalyst.com, Weiland took a look at the 2010 NBA Draft class and was intrigued by Lin because of his ability to rebound, block steal and make two-pointers at an effective rate.
Weiland’s story on Lin blew up after Lin’s performance against the Los Angeles Lakers and since then has been getting calls from the New York Daily News and The Wall Street Journal.
Weiland posts periodically on Hoops Analyst but is sure to be writing more after creating his own version of Linsanity.
