Report: North Carolina G Kendall Marshall Has Broken Right Wrist
Update: Kendall Marshall will have surgery today to insert a pin in his wrist to begin healing the fractured bone. His ability to play on Friday will be dependent on his pain tolerance, according to reports.
According to reports, North Carolina sophomore guard Kendall Marshall broke the spheroid bone in his right wrist in this afternoon’s win over the Creighton Blue Jays and could potentially miss the team’s Sweet Sixteen matchup against the winner of this evening’s South Florida / University of Ohio matchup.
CBS announced the injury just prior to tip-off of the Lehigh/Xavier game this evening, and the report has been corroborated via this tweet by Twitter account @UNCHoops:
The loss of Marshall for Carolina’s Sweet Sixteen matchup could be very damaging to a team that relies on his steady, consistent, and heady play at the point guard position.
This article will be updated when new information about Marshall’s condition comes to light.
