Video: Mickael Pietrus Taken Off Court On Stretcher After Fall
Mickael Pietrus was taken off the court Friday night after a ridiculously scary fall. The Boston Celtics were taking on the Philadelphia 76ers when Pietrus tried to drive the lane. He was hit in midair and landed hard on his back. The resulting whiplash resulted in a head injury.
The Associated Press says Pietrus will remain hospitalized overnight. He was listed as having a questionable closed head injury.
Coach Doc Rivers said Pietrus had X-rays and an MRI, but he had no other information.
Pietrus has been key for the Boston Celtics off the bench this season. With Boston barely holding onto the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference, they can’t afford any more injuries. With the health of the Big Three always in question, Boston needs all hands on deck. An injury to Pietrus could be a death blow to the playoff hopes that Boston has right now.
We will keep you updated on Pietrus’s condition as the night goes on. This is a very scary situation and we all hope that he is ok. You never want to see a player stretchered off, no matter the circumstance. I believe that Pietrus will probably miss some time, but I hope that he is able to return soon.
