VIDEO: Metta World Peace Elbow To James Harden
Call him Metta World Peace or call him Ron Artest. The angry streak of the Los Angeles Lakers forward came out on Sunday as he nearly decapitated Oklahoma City Thunder guard James Harden. Harden is lucky he does not have a dislocated jaw after that.
However, I am not 100 percent sure that this was intentional. Artest was celebrating and Harden was kind of in the way. That does not excuse it, but it was not as dirty as some may think. A Metta World Peace elbow always has some extra motivation. The replays showed that.
Oh, who am I kidding? That was ridiculously dirty. Artest/Peace will not be around for awhile. Should be a multiple game suspension for that and that will affect the team in the playoffs. You just can not have plays like that happen. Artest is a little bit off center, but that should not excuse him. You have to know what you are doing at all times.
There is no word on Harden as of right now. He’s lucky that he was able to get up eventually. I wonder if he might have a concussion or a possible facial fracture. Artest is a strong dude and his elbow is something that I do not want near my face.
This kind of makes the World Peace name a little bit weird though. A man of peace should not be dropping guys with bows like that. That is just not cool. We will have to wait and see what punishment he will have to face. I can say this though. We won’t see him in LA’s regular season finale.
