New York Knicks Guard Jeremy Lin Tops Kobe Bryant On NBA Best Selling Jersey List
Anthony Gruppuso-US PRESSWIRE

It may come as a shocker, but New York Knicks emerging point guard Jeremy Lin jerseys outsold Kobe Bryant jerseys, according to NBA’s traditional jersey sale rankings which they released Thursday morning. Lin, a former D-League player, obtains the No. 2 spot in the jersey rankings while Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose holds the top spot.

Lin not only beats Bryant but also tops out LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire. These numbers are even more amazing since Lin did not even become this sensation that everyone finds him to be until February of this season when Lin began to hit tough shots and put the Knicks on his back to defeat Bryant and the Lakers at Madison Square Garden in the middle of the season.

Lin’s emergence helped drive the international sales of NBAStore.com and even though the Linsanity stopped after Lin injured his knee and was forced to miss the rest of the season, you will still see Lin jerseys being sold across the country.

Also among the list was the Dallas Mavericks‘ Dirk Nowitzki (7), Oklahoma City Thunder‘s Kevin Durant (8), Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin (9) and Chris Paul (13) and the Orlando Magic‘s Dwight Howard (14).

The Chicago Bulls were also the most heavily sold team even though the Miami Heat’s James and Wade appeared fourth and sixth on the list. The Knicks finished second while the Heat, Mavericks and Boston Celtics follow.
