VIDEO: Derrick Rose Knee Injury In Game 1
The worst fear of Chicago Bulls fans has come true again. Superstar point guard Derrick Rose left their Game 1 win with a knee injury. Rose had to be helped off the floor and is currently getting set for an MRI. No word on how severe the injury is at this time.
Rose finished the game with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. He was starting to look like the Rose of old before the injury bug jumped up and grabbed him again. Using my amateur doctor skills, I believe he screwed up his MCL or his ACL. I hope to God that I am wrong. The Bulls can not afford Rose to miss any time. Without him, their title hopes are long gone.
However, some sources close to the team have indicated on Twitter that Rose can put weight on his knee. This may eliminate a tear, but a sprain is still an option. Either way, it is bad, bad news. I hope that Rose is able to return, because a superstar cut down with a knee injury just is not fair. He is too young to have to deal with this stuff.
This season from hell has cost Rose 27 regular season games. It could end up costing him even more playoff games. The kid is a warrior who just can not catch a break. Things will have to break right for the Bulls to advance without him. I know that Bulls fans everywhere are waiting by their phones to hear any update. We will bring one to you when we get one.
