Denver Nuggets 2012-2013 Schedule Set; Carmelo Anthony Returns March 13th
Thurday evening the 2012-2013 NBA schedule was released and while the Denver Nuggets has a tough schedule to start off this season, but after the first two months, Denver’s schedule load gets a bit lighter.
Denver will open with a three-game road trip starting Oct. 31 at Philadelphia and a Nov. 3 game and against the defending champion Miami Heat.
Denver’s home opener takes place November 6th against the Detroit Pistsons and will later host the Miami Heat on Novembr 15th.
The Denver Nuggets will face an upward battle as their first 9 games out of 12 are on the road, followed by 17 of their first 23, and 23 of their first 32 games are all on the road.
Last season, the Denver Nuggets did pretty well on the road with the best winning road percentage in league history at 54.5%, but as well all know last year and this year are two different tales.
The Nuggets will play the final game on Christmas Day battling against the Los Angeles Clippers in Los Angeles. The next day — in one of their 14 back-to-backs, Denver will play the mighty Los Angeles Lakers at the Pepsi Center.
After the two first months — let’s hope Denver does well — their bumpy road gets smoother as they play 15 of their 18 games from New Year’s Day to February 7th at home.
On January 18th, former Denver Nugget Nene makes his return back to the Mile High for the first time. In turn, JaVale McGee visits, for the first time, to his former team in Washington.
Of course, the creme de la creme of all games is the return of Carmelo Anthony to Denver — for some strange reason the League never scheduled this coming home game last season – on March 13th.
Not only Carmelo, but J.R. Smith will return to Denver for the first time as well.
Yes, folks, there will be a slew of deafening jeers.
