Ray Allen helps The Miami Heat on and off the floor
Ray Allen brings more than just his shooting skills to the Miami Heat. Allen has been an ultimate professional throughout his 16 year career.
He is the NBA’s all-time leader in three pointers made and that is not a coincidence. He is known for his routine of getting to both home and away arenas three to five hours before tip-off and going through a strict and intense shooting workout.
He will be able to engage in the type of conversations that will benefit the Big 3 in pursuit of a repeat and can help inspire the likes of young point guard Mario Chalmers. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh‘s minutes will always be guaranteed but the question that won’t be answered until June 2013 is who will accompany Wade in the back court for the majority of games and most importantly late in games. Both Allen and Chalmers demand attention because they have the ability to make game changing three pointers and free-throws late in games.
Chalmers can’t compete with Allen’s resume but he can boast of his 25 point performance in game 4 of the 2012 NBA finals.
Yet besides competing against one another both will be able to help each other. Allen can help Chalmers become a more consistent sharp shooter through his daily habits and routines while Chalmers can show Allen the best spots to be on the floor while playing with James, Wade, and Bosh.
The Heat added another great basketball mind that can help them on the court and in the locker room.
