The Dallas Cowboys are starting to get healthy. After missing cornerback Mike Jenkins and receiver Miles Austin for the past month, both players will be back in the Cowboys’ starting lineup in the next two weeks. Jenkins will make his return on Sunday when the Cowboys visit the Arizona Cardinals while Austin is expected to return on Dec. 11 when the New York Giants come to Cowboys Stadium.
Dallas lost Jenkins to a hamstring injury while suffering a humiliating 34-7 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 30. In fact, the Cowboys haven’t had a completely healthy secondary since the first game this season.
Austin injured his left hamstring during the Cowboys’ 27-24 overtime win at San Francisco back in Week 2 and missed two games. Then after returning from that injury, Austin pulled his right hamstring four weeks ago and will miss his sixth game this season on Sunday.
However, the Cowboys should be healthy across the board when the Giants come to town for a primetime matchup in a week. Austin will join emerging star Laurent Robinson and second-year pro Dez Bryant in what has become a prolific Cowboys passing game during the latter portion of this season. Jenkins will return to help bolster a secondary that’s improved worlds upon a disappointing 2010 campaign. Dallas will be extremely fortunate to have both back in the starting lineup.
