Dez Bryant Defends Tim Tebow on Twitter
Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant praised Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow on Twitter following the Broncos’ 29-23 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Sunday’s AFC Wildcard playoff game. Many of Bryant’s followers didn’t like that.
When Tebow connected with Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas for the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime, Bryant tweeted the following:
After several fans responded with some rather non-flattering tweets, Bryant continued his praise of Tebow:
Finally, Bryant actually mentioned Tebow in a tweet with more praise:
Even though Bryant’s tweets weren’t that opinionated, his resiliency in not responding directly to those fans he mentioned does illustrate his maturity, in a sense. A year ago, Bryant would have attacked anyone who disagreed with him on Twitter. Cowboys fans have to look on the bright side here; this could have been another PR disaster for Dallas, but Bryant held his peace.
