The Dallas Cowboys, and every team in the NFL, must get their roster down to 75 players today and the team has released a list of players they have cut. The list included a wide receiver who was battling for a spot on the roster in Raymond Radway.
Radway was one play away from making the Cowboys’ 53 man roster last season until he suffered a horrific leg injury on the last play of a preseason game against the Miami Dolphins. It seemed there were high hopes for Radway, who started off hot in training camp but hasn’t shown much since, nor has he done much in any of the Cowboys preseason games thus far.
Jason Garrett had this to say about Radway: “Over the course of the off-season and through training camp, we just felt like some of the other guys were ahead of him.”
Another receiver waived was Donovan Kemp, who recently tore his knee and will likely go on the Cowboys injured reserved list. Also likely to go on the injured list is linebacker Caleb McSurdy, who tore his Achilles tendon.
The Cowboys also released tackle Levy Adcock, punter Delbert Alvarado, receiver David Little, tackle Tyrone Novikoff, running back Javarris Williams, cornerback C.J. Wilson and tight end Harry Flaherty.
There aren’t any surprises on this early cut list and the more difficult decisions will come when the Cowboys have to get down to their 53 man roster on Aug. 31.
