After already announcing preseason games in Germany and Spain, The Dallas Mavericks have released the remainder of the 2012 preseason schedule Thursday.
They will open training camp on September 30th. On October 6th they will go overseas and play Alba Berlin in Berlin, Germany. The Mavs will then head to Spain and play FC Barcelona on October 9th.
After their games overseas they will head back to Dallas and host the Houston Rockets on October 15th and the Phoenix Suns on the 17th. They will then go on the road to Atlanta and play the Hawks on October 20th. They will go back home to play the New Orleans Hornets on October 22nd. Next up they will take a trip to Wichita, Kansas and play the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 24th. They will end the preseason at home against the Charlotte Bobcats on October 26th.
The Mavericks will open the regular season in Los Angeles on October 30th against former Maverick Steve Nash, newly aquired Dwight Howard and the face of the franchise, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.
Rick Carlisle is one of the top coaches in the league. I expect him to have his team fully ready for the preseason and the opener on October 30th against the Lakers. After last seasons lockout it was easy to see guys like Dirk, Vince and Lamar didn’t necessarily work hard in the offseason. Hopefully Vince and Dirk won’t make a trend of being out of shape.
