Report: Denver Broncos Could Add Dallas Clark, And Other Former Indianapolis Colts
Shortly after it was reported that Peyton Manning picked the Denver Broncos to get a deal done with, there is a report saying that Dallas Clark and other former Indianapolis Colts may follow Manning to Denver. The report includes TE Dallas Clark, TE Jacob Tamme, RB Joseph Addai, and C Jeff Saturday. I personally believe that TE is the biggest need for the Broncos so I would love to see Clark and Tamme signed by the Broncos.
Clark has played 9 seasons and all have been with Manning under center. He has averaged 47 receptions, 543 yards, and 5 touchdowns over those 9 seasons. His best span was from 2007 to 2009 where he averaged 78 receptions, 857 yards, and 9 touchdowns. He only played one 16 game season which was in 2009 where he caught 100 balls, for 1106 yards, and 10 touchdowns.
With Clark’s recent injury history Tamme would necessitate a capable backup. Tamme caught 67 passes for 631 yards in 10 games after Clark was lost for the season in 2010.
Addai has not played at near the level he did earlier in his career, but Manning has said numerous times how well Addai blocks in pass protection, if Addai signs cheap he may be worth it.
Saturday is a must sign if at all possible. He should sign at a reasonable price to prolong his career and to stay with Manning. Saturday has been Manning’s center for the last 13 seasons and for 197 games. He has been to 5 pro bowls since 2005 and 2 all-pro teams during that time. He also has been voted in the top 100 NFL players at 59th in 2011.
