David Garrard Looks Sharper At Camp Than Peyton Manning
Sports Illustrated’s Peter King made this tweet recently comparing Miami Dolphins’ QB David Garrard and Denver Broncos’ QB Peyton Manning…

This is a great sign for the Dolphins and hopefully when the season gets here they will get the Garrard at his old top form. Garrard had several seasons where he was considered a top 15 QB in the league. He has thrown for 3,500 + yards twice and in those 2 seasons he rushed for 300+ also. He has thrown 15+ touchdowns 4 times and threw only 3 interceptions one season.
If Garrard was to return to his old form (which would be good for the Dolphins) no one in their right mind would choose him over Manning. It is easy to look sharp in training camp because the defense is told not to hit the quarterback. When the season gets here and the speed of the game picks up Garrard wont look as sharp as Manning…I’ll promise you that.
Both of these QBs are recovering from major surgeries. Garrard had a back surgery and Manning multiple neck surgeries. These quarterbacks have a lot in common, but one thing that Manning has over Garrard is what matters the most…production. There is not even a comparison between these two guys and I don’t think anyone would argue with that. I don’t think Mr. King who made the tweet would argue that, but his statement was to point out that Garrard is looking sharp which is a good sign for the Dolphins. He surely wouldn’t say that he thought Garrard was the better QB option.
