When people start talking about the most important players for the Denver Broncos, the usual names pop up. Peyton Manning, Champ Bailey, Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil. There’s one name missing and it is a name that a lot of Bronco fans probably would not think of as a member of that group. His name is, David Bruton. Bruton is a backup safety for the Broncos and is entering his third year with the team. He’s a decent backup safety but he makes the team on special teams, and that’s why he belongs in that group. Bruton is a great player on special teams!
In Saturday’s preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Bruton proved once again why he has no worries when the Broncos start making cuts. He blocked two punts and had two tackles on coverage teams. Bruton said on Monday in the Denver Post that his is just trying to do his job and help the team:
It definitely adds to momentum and to my resume. I’m trying to show that I’m valuable to the Broncos.
The Broncos know how valuable he is and if he never played a down on defense, Bruton would make this team. He went on to describe how he was able to block those punts:
It was just game planning the guy (offensive lineman), he was weak on the up and under, so I got him with that.
Bruton prepares for his role on special teams just as Manning prepares to dissect defenses. The difference is everyone sees the results of Manning’s extra work, but Bruton’s work usually goes without notice. That’s the life of a special teams ace, no one notices you until you make a mistake.
Bruton rarely makes mistakes and is one of the most important players for the Denver Broncos. So the next time the Broncos are on special teams, keep an eye out for number 30. Chances are, he just made a play.

Iˇ¦m no longer certain the place you’re getting your info, however good topic. I must spend a while finding out much more or understanding more. Thanks for magnificent information I was looking for this info for my mission.
Your’re right on Joe. He is a stud and extremely smart and talented! Bruton would help make the Bronco defense stronger with more reps as well. I think the problem is they are paying too much money to the others in front of him on the depth chart and the owners don’t want to play a better player they are paying less.
That’s the business side of the NFL. Those decisions don’t help the secondary!
