With the fantasy hockey season half over, this is the perfect time to start searching the waiver wire. Below are my top waiver wire additions for the twelfth week of the fantasy hockey season:
Small Leagues: 8-10 man leagues
C Steve Ott, DAL – Ott remains hot in December with 8 points already this month.
LW Victor Stalberg, CHI – Stalberg has dominated with 7 points in his last four games.
RW Blake Wheeler, WPG – Wheeler has been very impressive on the expansion team, by totaling 27 points in the first 37 games of the season.
D Matt Niskanen, PIT – Niskanen has 9 points already in the month of December.
G Jean-Sebastien Giguere, COL – JSG is only getting more starts as Colorado continues their hot streak. He is 4-1 in his last five games and is still available in a majority of smaller leagues.
Large Leagues: 10-14 man leagues
C Mikhali Grabovski, TOR – “Grabby” has grabbed 8 points already in December, bringing his season total up to 19.
LW Steve Sullivan, PIT – Someone has to step up with the loss of Captain Sydney Crosby, and this veteran knows how to distribute the puck well from the wing.
RW Dustin Brown, LA – Brown has 5 points in the last seven games, and is on his way to having a career season.
D Kevin Shatterkirk, STL – “Captain Kirk” has 4 points in his last five games, but the youngster tends to be very streaky.
G Mathieu Garon, TB – Garon has outplayed current starter Dwayne Roloson all season long, but he still only gets spot starts. He will eventually be the everyday starter in Tampa, and now is the perfect time to scoop him up.
