Fantasy Golf Rankings for the PGA Honda Classic
By Adam McGill
With the World Golf Championships over last week and Hunter Mahan being the new number one in the world, look for many golfers to be playing with an attitude. Palm Beach will also be hosting Rory McIlroy’s first state-side PGA event of the year, so the world will be paying extra attention to this one. Here are my top ten fantasy golfers for the Honda Classic:
1. Rory McIlroy – The pride of Northern Ireland will be looking to redeem himself from a mediocre performance at the World Golf Championship last week.
2. Mark Wilson – Wilson has 2 top-three finishes already this year, including a third place finish last week at the WGC.
3. Keegan Bradley – The kid is averaging a stellar 69.3 strokes per round and will shine in the Florida sun this weekend.
4. Tiger Woods – Woods is hitting the ball great off the tee, but his short game has cost him two weeks in a row. He will only get better the more he plays, so expect his puts to start dropping sooner rather than later.
5. Lee Westwood – Westwood is outstanding with his irons and knows exactly how to play this course.
6. Y. E. Wang – Wang has always shot well at Palm Beach and is a great sleeper to grab in weekly drafts.
7. Kyle Stanley – Stanley has struggled in his last 2 tournaments, but he is still the golfer who won the Phoenix open with a score of 15 under. He can crush the ball off the tees and Palm Beach is a very open 18.
8. Jim Furyk – The “Furious Furyk” is hitting 71.1 percent of his fairways this year, but does not have any top ten finishes. He has the power to beat anyone off the tees, but desperately needs to work on his short game.
9. Ryan Moore – Moore has looked sharp in his last 2 tournaments, with a 64 at Pebble Beach and a 68 at the Riviera.
10. Spencer Levin – Levin is swinging a beautiful club in recent weeks and has been just missing puts by a hair.
