Fantasy NASCAR Rankings for the FoodCity 500
By Adam McGill
The fantasy NASCAR season has really been shocking this year. Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson do not look like themselves, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. is having a career season. There is still months left to race for, so anything can happen in the coming weeks. Below are my fantasy NASCAR rankings for the FoodCity 500:
1. Carl Edwards – Edwards has four top-ten finishes this season and he is due for a win one of these weeks.
2. Jeff Gordon – Gordan finally gets to begin in a decent spot (fourth) and is a great pickup this weekend.
3. Greg Biffle – Biffle continues to impress with 4 top-five finishes in a row.
4. Ryan Newman – Newman has an amazing qualifying at 125..158 MPH and his #39 car is running perfectly right now.
5. Brad Keselowski – Keselowski may have struggled last week with s 32nd place finish, but it is hard to mess up a fifth place start.
6. Kyle Bush – Bush has 3 top-ten finishes already, including winning the Bud Shootout to open the year.
7. Kevin Harvick – Harvick is a great sleeper this weekend; after finishing eleventh, second, second, and seventh in the last four races.
8. Dale Earnhardt Jr. – “Junior” is driving great this year; with 2 second places finishes in the last four weeks.
9. Jimmie Johnson – “Double J” is not the driver he was last year, but he still is worth a late pick in any first round.
10. Martin Truex Jr. – Truex Jr. continues to surprise, as he has seemingly placed in every race year.
