Fantasy Golf Rankings for the Shell Houston Open
By Adam McGill
With Tiger Woods shocking the world last week by winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational, it has really heated up the fantasy golf world. Woods may not be competing this weekend, but a lot of the tour regulars will still be attending to perfect their swing for the Masters next weekend. Below are my top fantasy golfers for the Shell Houston Open:
1. Lee Westwood – Westwood has struggled since the World Golf Classic, but still has one of the best approach shots in the world.
2. Phil Mickelson – “Lefty” is due to win a tournament one of these weeks, and without Tiger, this could easily be it.
3. Keegan Bradley – Bradley has finished in the top-25 in all of his tournaments this year and is one of the best all-around golfers on the tournament.
4. Hunter Mahan – Mahan has been hot since winning the World Golf Classic at the end of last month.
5. Steve Stricker – Stricker is averaging 68.5 strokes per round , while also leading the tour with 3.73 birdies per 18.
6. Johnson Wagner – “Mr. Moustache” is one of the more underrated golfers on the tour and will be a great sleeper to keep an eye on.
7. Graeme McDowell – After finishing second last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, McDowell is heavily favored heading into the Shell Houston tourney.
8. Ernie Els – Els has finished in the top-five in each of his last two tournaments and the veteran is still being overlooked this weekend.
9. Charl Schwartzel – After missing the cut at the Transitions Open, Schwartzel is seriously slipping in weekly fantasy drafts. He is still a top-ten golfer and has great value in the second round.
10. Aaron Bradley – Bradley continues to impress and is a dark-horse to win the tournament.
