Fantasy Baseball Playoffs Prospect Report

With the Fantasy Baseball playoffs underway, that means that half of all fantasy leagues are sitting at home thinking of what could have been.  It is better to start planning for next year, as opposed to completely switching over to fantasy football mode.  There are still plenty of baseball prospects left in the field to keep an eye.  To help you stay ahead of the curve, here is my latest fantasy baseball prospect report:

Just Called Up:

OF Adam Eaton, Arizona Diamondbacks Eaton was just called up from Triple-A Reno and the 23-year old has already had an impact in the desert.  Eaton has racked up 4 hits in his first two MLB games and is showing why he led the Pacific Coast League with a gaudy .381 batting average.

Texas Cowboy:

SS Jurickson Profar, Texas Rangers – The 19-year old’s first game could not have been more ideal.  He crushed a solo home run during his first professional at-bat, becoming the youngest player in the history of the American League to accomplish the feat.  Profar is still growing, as he weighs only 165 pounds, so his power will only develop more as he matures.  He is one of the best shortstop prospects in all baseball, but like most; he could end up having to switch positions with Elvis Andrus cemented at short in Texas.

Progressing Nicely:

SS Jean Segura, San Diego Padres – Segura was the integral part of the Zach Greinke trade with the Los Angeles Angels and the youngster has looked pretty solid through his first couple weeks of professional baseball.   The 22-year has racked up 3 RBI and stolen 3 bases over his last seven games and he is doing it from the bottom of the unforgettable Padres’ lineup.  The Dominican is the future of the San Diego infield and he could already be here to stay.
