The second week of the fantasy football season is already upon us and there are still thousands of people looking to set their lineups. To help you win this weekend, here are my week 3 fantasy football players to start and sit:
Guys to Start:
QB Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys (vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – Eli Manning torched the Bucs’ secondary last week for over 500 yards, so expect Romo to have a similarly huge outing.
RB Donald Brown, Indianapolis Colts (vs. Jacksonville Jaguars) – Jacksonville is allowing 169.5 rushing yards against per game, so the former UConn standout will have a huge game on Sunday.
RB Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs (@ New Orleans Saints) – Charles has been a fantasy bust so far, but expect him to run wild against a Saints’ bounty-less defense that is allowing 186 rushing yards per game.
WR A. J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals (@ Washington Redskins) – Green will gash a Redskins’ secondary that is allowing 314 yards against per game.
WR Santonio Holmes, New York Jets (@ Miami Dolphins) – Miami is giving up over 300 yards through the air per game, so expect Holmes to have another huge weekend.
TE Brent Celek, Philadelphia Eagles (@ Arizona Cardinals) – Celek had a career afternoon last Sunday as he hauled in 8 balls for 157 yards. He gets to play another aging defense, so expect him to have another quality outing in the desert.
IDP: Jason Babin, Philadelphia Eagles (@ Arizona Cardinals) – Babin will have his first multi-sack game of the year against a struggling Cards’ o-line.
Guys to Sit:
QB Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks (vs. Green Bay Packers) – The Green Bay Packers’ secondary is looking much better than last season, as they are only averaging 133 yards against per game.
RB Michael Turner, Atlanta Falcons (vs. San Diego Chargers) – Turner is becoming increasingly less involved in Atlanta’s offense, and the team is playing a tough Chargers’ defense that is allowing a NFL-low 41.5 yards against per game.
RB Ryan Williams, Arizona Cardinals (vs. Philadelphia Eagles) – Williams fumbled on one of the Cards’ last possessions last week, and was essentially responsible for the team’s loss. He will get much less touches this weekend.
WR Brandon Lloyd, New England Patriots (@ Baltimore Ravens) – The signing of Deion Branch this week, does not bode well for Lloyd’s long-term fantasy value. Now factor in Lloyd’s thigh injury, and he is the perfect candidate to be sitting on your bench this weekend.
TE Kellen Winslow, New England Patriots (@ Baltimore Ravens)– Winslow just arrived in New England this week, so it is hard to believe that he will put up Pro Bowl numbers right away.
IDP: Chris Clemons, Seattle Seahawks (vs. Green Bay Packers) – Green Bay will be looking to make a statement on Monday night, so expect them to start by firing up their offensive line.
